ब्लॉग 61: शरीर से दुर्गंध? शिकार मत बनो
शरीर की दुर्गंध किसी के लिए भी शर्मनाक समस्या हो सकती है। पश्चिम बंगाल जैसे उष्णकटिबंधीय क्षेत्रों में, जहां गर्मी और अत्यधिक पसीना आना पर्यायवाची हैं, शरीर की दुर्गंध इस मौसम से जुड़ी एक गंभीर समस्या हो सकती है। हालाँकि, गंध केवल पसीने के कारण नहीं होती है।
दो प्रकार की पसीने की ग्रंथियां होती हैं जो शरीर के तापमान को बनाए रखने के लिए पसीना पैदा करती हैं और चयापचय के कुछ उपोत्पादों को भी बाहर निकालती हैं। पूरे शरीर में मौजूद एक्राइन ग्रंथियां पानी और नमक का उत्सर्जन करती हैं, लेकिन बगल और जननांग क्षेत्र में मौजूद एपोक्राइन ग्रंथियां नमक और पानी के साथ यूरिया और वसा का भी उत्सर्जन करती हैं। एपोक्राइन ग्रंथि के टूटने से बैक्टीरिया द्वारा उत्सर्जित पसीना शरीर में दुर्गंध का कारण बनता है।
